MMPI Responses for Post-traumatic Head Injury Pstients

Abstract
The 123 subjects consisted of 51 post-traumatic head injury patients (including 26 organic mental disorders and 25 post-traumatic stress disorders), 40 somatofrom disorder patients £¦ 32 normals, diagnosed by DSM-¥² diagnostic neuropsychiatry at WonKwang University Hospital, Chung Nam University Hospital or Seoul Peuk Eum Hospital from August 1982 to July 1987.
All of them were responsed to the MMPI, and then investigated MMPI profile type for each group and compared T scores in MMPI subscales.
The results were as follows : 1. The MMPI profile of the post-traumatic head injury group, was F-8-6-1-3 type in the organic mental disorders and F-1-3-8-6 type in the post-traumatic stress disorders.
2. The MMPI profile of the somatoform disorder group was 1-3-2 type.
3. On the F scale and all of clinical subscales, the T scores were significantly different between the normals and the patients(P<.01).
4. Among the normals, the somatofrom disorders and the post-traumatic head injuries, the T scores of F, Pa, Ma(p<.01), D and Si subscales(p<.05) were significantly different.
5. Between the organic mental disorders and the post-traumatic stress disorders, the T scores of Hs and Pa subscales were signifcantly different(p<.05).
